The Pied Piper

The Pied Piper

A Poem by Candle in the wind
"

This is not the piper who tricked the mice and led them to the sea. This is the piper who played of his own volition and gave of his own bounty. The swarming mice lost themselves.

"

I had a pied piper
Who charmed my thoughts away
With his melodies
His tinkling laughter
His heartwarming smile
Which lit up my world
He liberated my spirit
My thoughts followed him
As he pranced along
Playing his myriad tunes
He unveiled new horizons
Which enticed them along
He would play his pipe
Whenever I would ask
I was no connoisseur
Yet he would let me taste
New flavors and intoxications
My thoughts swarmed after him
Wafted by the bliss
As he walked along
With a jig in his step
Then those swarming thoughts
Came to the brink
They plunged into the sea
And are now bobbing up and down
In deep dark swirling waters

Very enchanting and charming.
Its miraculous, how a person in your life gives you a revived entity, subjugates your thoughts only to give them impregnable liberty, creates a new horizon and encourages you beyond every horizon.

I loved the concluding part.

Then those swarming thoughts
Came to the brink
They plunged into the sea
And are now bobbing up and down
In deep dark swirling waters

Is this just a thought or is this a tribute to someone?? (wink)

This piece was wonderful. I liked the idea of the piper having such a powerful allure about him that you gave with perfect detail to allow my mind's eye see him clearly and perfectly. This was an enchanting mixture of visuals and beautiful words. I really enjoyed this read thank you.

heyy!!hi
i wudnt be writing much bout ur style or the pen-genius u are, thats already an understatement..wat i wud like to say is i read the pied piper long long time bak wen i was just 9 or 10..and just have fragments of the story in memory..but tel u wat,i dont want u to tell me the story, this one's better i wud like to believe..so simple and straight, yet so meaningfully touching!!i guess u gave pied piper the real essence of his name!!whoever ur pied piper is,he must be a happy guy to have YOU follow him, anywhere whereever..
happy life :)

New flavors and intoxications... I love the feel of this piece, it is light and whimsical but the message is a good solid one ... very inspirational, I enjoyed it. I always enjoy your writing and I need to apologize for my delay in getting here to read it.

It brought to mind the tales of wandering bards of old europe, who would entice all that they played for.
Great Job!

I liked this piece, the interpretation that i got from it was that there are always going to be people that can lead us astray, but in the end we are responsible for following that person. I think that this is a great piece and i like the picture that you included with it.

Ooooh, I like this! For some reason it reminds me of "Magic Man" by Heart.

A great write, and the pic lends itself well to it.

Enchanting...Hypnotic...

Just what one would expect from a pied piper...especially one who has come not to rid one of something, but to give one something so special that even if one has
"...plunged into the sea
And are now bobbing up and down
In deep dark swirling waters"
one is free from all bonds that tie one down, in a state of such liberation that life seems to be worthwhile after all...

Brilliantly written...how do you come up with such images? Keep up the awesome work ma'am, and keep sharing it with us all...Thank You!

May God Bless You!
