This is not the piper who tricked the mice and led them to the sea. This is the piper who played of his own volition and gave of his own bounty. The swarming mice lost themselves.
Very enchanting and charming.
Its miraculous, how a person in your life gives you a revived entity, subjugates your thoughts only to give them impregnable liberty, creates a new horizon and encourages you beyond every horizon.
I loved the concluding part.
Then those swarming thoughts
Came to the brink
They plunged into the sea
And are now bobbing up and down
In deep dark swirling waters
Is this just a thought or is this a tribute to someone?? (wink)
thats awsome..i got a slight laugh from the introduction, because it's so well put, i really enjoyed
the concept, the lure of the piper, but with a twist because as you said, he played of his own
volition, this reminds me of a classic tale, one passed down by legend, the imagery is clearly
colorful and alive, vibrant, one can really picture the piper playing tunes, watching your heart
follow the melody with wistful intentions of bliss, only to end up in the deep end of the ocean,
very well done, and has a timeless meaning, hope this wasn't based on a true story, but to some
degree i'm sure it was, as its merely natural to fall into infatuations, im sure most can relate in
one way or another, excllent read, transporting, takes the reader, beautiful graphics
I also was wondering, as Feather..is this a creation of the mind, or is he real. He sounds real, and that you followed until your feeling got lost in the infatuation. Great piece. Rain..
Your poem is wonderful.... I have had my pied piper, also... Unfortunately, when he lead me to the edge... it was like stepping off a ledge into thin air. You have many levels going on in these words. Hope the emotional aspects that sparked this continue to inspire you. Sometimes the 'charmers' are catalysts even if not permanent in our lives. And, just perhaps bits of those melodies become our own, in our own special way. Well done!
"I had a pied piper
Who charmed my thoughts away
With his melodies
His tinkling laughter
His heartwarming smile
Which lit up my world
He liberated my spirit
My thoughts followed him
As he pranced along
Playing his myriad tunes"
Hmmm led you right off a cliff did he? This poem sounds like the enchantment of the fae. I am familiar with his kind. You paint a character who turns out to be excruciatingly beautiful; one who entices with promises of shiny bright things upon the horizon. You paint it wonderfully by the way; with images that are whimsical and call to mind pale water coloured brush strokes of a charming man leading a wide eyed young beauty.
Its all right you see; you learned something in that time spent with this sidhe of a man. You stretched and grew; shed some naivety for lessons in shall we say music appreciation.
You may be in the midst of dark swirling waters but you have not drowned.
There is music inside you now; YOUR music in words;listen to it, let it carry you up.
Not sure If I have reviewed this yet, but this poem contains such beautiful thoughts so vividly expressed, and the imagery creates a feeling as you read that takes you to that special place in your heart that you wrote from.
Much to be admired about this, and you in genral..
this is wonderful and powerful poem i really like this alot....you have a great way of writing and thinking.i hope to see more of theses poems there great,
Flickering and blazing, not yet blown out in the wind...
the flame has to sustain itself when the rains set in...
Beyond norms and overrated sanity
" We look before and after
And pine for what i.. more..
