My Walk.A Poem by Lover of lovelinessA poem of the beauty of nature
It was a lovely sunny day again
So I went for a walk down a country lane. Not just for a stretch and a breath of fresh air But to stop and look at the beauty there. A gold and red leaf lay along the side. Close by, the big tree stood there with pride. It's branches shaking in the breeze Perfection of colours in all the trees. The old oaks begin to look a bit bare Branches all twisted and hanging there. Fruits on the ground, not good to eat But I picked some up and thought 'how sweet'... From such little acorns, the mighty oak grows It doesn't toil, it doesn't sow. The cycle of life with ease shall be For every tall, majestic tree. I was lucky to find some conkers today, Most of them had been taken to play. I thought, how important to love nature's fun, To treasure the biggest and shiniest one. Some bright red berries carpet my way The hedgerows aflame on this Autumn day. And I realised I'm lucky and wanted to share A part of the beauty I noticed there. © 2014 Lover of lovelinessReviews
