A Jammed Lift

“What happens inside the lift, when five strangers are trapped into a jammed lift just after a murder in a hotel and taken to the police station as prime suspects later on?

I have written a murder mystery which happens in a five star hotel at New Delhi. The story mainly revolves around five persons, who by chance happen to be together in a lift at the time of murder. The lift develops a mechanical snag and jammed for more than two hours . They came to know about the murder in the lift and talk to each other. Their talks on their mobile phones create a doubt around each of them. After the snag is rectified, they all are taken to the police station for interrogation and the drama unfolds in an interesting way. The gist of the story is:-

1. The conversation among strangers at the time of crisis.
2. Sympathy and compassion for each other in such a situation.
3. Creation of doubt of the murder over all of them.
4. Exploitation of the situation (of the unexpected confinement of all the occupants in the lift) by a person for his own benefits by faking it as a case of kidnapping a girl and extracting out the money as ransom from her parents.

5. Recovery of the ransom by the girl outsmarting the person later on.
6. Resolving the murder mystery.
