Sojourn - Me

It is a compilation of several poems, rain, et al. Sometimes we are jubilant to find lost love, while sometimes we could not keep it for fear of missing it once again. �Sojourn� demonstrates the different phases of love one has encountered in life.

 

Me

 

I can be you at any time

Provided you need to hold me

When I lose the roadmap

 

That way also I will be me

No one else — not even you, not anyone

 

I can go any distance relentlessly

Without any reference

As I know at the end point
You will be there to find me

 

One day, I remember, you told me

Not to leave you alone

No matter what…

 

I promised

But it was you who made me weak

It was you who said not to meet,

Not to talk, not to kiss, not to fly,

Not to touch, or not to smile

 

To test yourself

To test me

The indispensability of love

 

I had to as I promised to

After suppressing pain inside

Seconds, minutes, hours, days, months…

 

Now I am habituated

To be like this

Suddenly you called me up, saying “please come!”

 

I’m scared to think

I’m too frail to give another exam!

A fine but sad poem... expressing love and hurt and questions.

In the first exerpt you KNOW, in the second, you're scared... what a mix of emotions.

Well constructed post, good metre, some fine phrases.. thank you for sharing.
