the color you call blue..

the color you call blue..

A Poem by Rain
"

Sometimes I complain about stuff that other people dream of.

"
you can write about your wars
the battles you've won or lost
you can sing about your highways
all the souvenirs you tossed
tell me all about sweet marie
how she left you all alone
how you wanted to end it all
how the pain went to the bone
you can drop down to your knees
cry the whole night through
somewhere someone lays alone
from a wound cut clean an true
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry
tell me about your lost plans
and every dream you watched die
sing me loud your misery
let the world know your pain
tell it how confused you are
how it feels alone in the rain
tell me how it feels my friend
sing me about the life that's you
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

tell me about every alley way
every wrong turn you've ever made
let people know how unfair life is
represent all the bruises laid
write a song of a river deep
about the mountains you have faced
tell me how helpless feels
when everything you love's erased
tell me about how hard you tried
but everything you tried went wrong
sing me all about your path
put every failure in your song
when you have screamed out every hurt
you have thrown out all that's true
somewhere someone's bleedin
for the color you call blue..

This is an amazing poem, and a wonderful read. (: It's interesting to think that the stuff we complain about or take for granted are the things that other people would die for. o= Definitely puts into perspective those people that complain /all/ the time (and I admitt, I'm guilty of this occasionally! XD) This was a rewarding read! ^___^

Wow Rain, though not what I was expecting, I really liked this. It read smoothly. we all display our own perspective on things, and what I took from this is that yes, we all bleed and tell our stories, but in some way we may need to hear them from others as it may validate and make us feel not so alone. Not sure if that is what you were thinking. Yes, it could sound like we are all feeling sorry for ourselves and sometimes we do. No matter, this piece gave what I need it from it and gave me a bit of a chuckle too at our own color we call blue. I loved it.

the repeated line is hard hitting, packing alot of innovative and emotional punch into those two lines, though much of the setup that leads into this is very cliche.

Excellent rhyme and structure. But more than that, I was impressed with the content in here.

We do have this tendency to think that what matters for us must matter for everyone else. And what we consider trivial must be rubbished off by them as well.

There are different kinds of pain in this world. And we must learn to listen to those who are suffering.
But we don't.
At least I don't. Most of the time, I don't.

That's why I liked this poem. It made me think.
A very meaningful piece of writing.
Thank you so much for sharing.

I have read the other reviews. It seems that different folks glean different things from it. I get a feeling of "It is time to get off my a*s and stop feeling sorry for myself." There is true feeling in this. In the space that I am in right now, I am overwhelmed with a sense of, "Stop whining! Everybody has something to hurt over. Pain is part of life. Don't let it stop you from living. Go find something that will make you smile and make you happy, if only for a moment."

I have been sad for a long while now and I am ready to get over it. I want to have one last ice cream sundae and then start a new day.

I have no idea if I have grasped where you were going with this but it has touched me in a unique way today. Your writing is usually so raw and straight forward. This piece seems somewhat cloaked to me. It can be many things to many different people, as evidenced by the varied reviews. All of the reviews were positive in nature but everyone seemed to see it with their own slant on it. I myself could not see where it was coming from for you. I can usually see your heart very clearly in your work. Today you leave me guessing. I hope you are well, my friend.

This is such a validating piece, Ray. It gives the reader permission to think and to feel ... not just what they "should" think or feel, but what they are feeling at any given moment. I love it!

This is beautiful, Rain, and reads like a song. It would be a MEGA hit song! Absolutely LOVE it!
The words, feelings, color of blue, it all falls into place perfectly.

I absolutely LOVE this- especially since I've been feeling the blues lately. You've beautifully personified the most abstract pains and the verse is wonderful. I could definitely see this as a song, too (I'm sure that's not how you meant it, but it would work that way too.) Nice job!

Aw Rain, this is really something else. A definite favorite.

Something in it makes me feel all emotional and want to hug you. This one, I think, is the best ever ...

This is phenomenal Rain and so darned true. This is one of the BEST I have read in a long time and going straight into my favorites! It hits to the core...What do any of us have to worry about? We can be so selfish and self centered... Thank you!
