the color you call blue..

the color you call blue..

A Poem by Rain
"

Sometimes I complain about stuff that other people dream of.

"
you can write about your wars
the battles you've won or lost
you can sing about your highways
all the souvenirs you tossed
tell me all about sweet marie
how she left you all alone
how you wanted to end it all
how the pain went to the bone
you can drop down to your knees
cry the whole night through
somewhere someone lays alone
from a wound cut clean an true
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry
tell me about your lost plans
and every dream you watched die
sing me loud your misery
let the world know your pain
tell it how confused you are
how it feels alone in the rain
tell me how it feels my friend
sing me about the life that's you
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

tell me about every alley way
every wrong turn you've ever made
let people know how unfair life is
represent all the bruises laid
write a song of a river deep
about the mountains you have faced
tell me how helpless feels
when everything you love's erased
tell me about how hard you tried
but everything you tried went wrong
sing me all about your path
put every failure in your song
when you have screamed out every hurt
you have thrown out all that's true
somewhere someone's bleedin
for the color you call blue..

This is an amazing poem, and a wonderful read. (: It's interesting to think that the stuff we complain about or take for granted are the things that other people would die for. o= Definitely puts into perspective those people that complain /all/ the time (and I admitt, I'm guilty of this occasionally! XD) This was a rewarding read! ^___^

this was very well written and the imagery was wonderful. i think if you put a hook with it, it would be a great song.

Hi Ray xx I like the catch cry in this, it is a little cynical and gritty, it brings home each stanza perfectly!
I am always impressed with your honest writing and this was no different in blatant truth.
Cheers,
Helen xx

This will go into my fave's. It says so much to me I can not express. You have apparently lived what I am now living. I need to hear these things from parents I do not have. Its nice someone writes them down. profoundly touched.

This is an incredible piece! There will always be someone worse off. And the tragedy is... we so often complain about things that just don't matter, while there is real suffering going on.... to an extent that we can't even imagine.

Looking at what is right and not at what is wrong is the answer. Giving of self. Love, forgiveness, gratitude.....

Thank you for sharing this amazing poem Rain!! It's message is powerful and priceless... :)

Very inspiring piece. We have all had our hard times. Makes me think of the song "When you're going through Hell" don't know why exactly. Wonderfully penned. Great job.

Beautifully crafted and defiantly one to make you think! Makes me wonder in all this world who has the right to feel blue. Those caught in war of countries greed? Dieing for reasons hidden from them? Parents watching their children die from hunger as they have not the food to feed them? The young boy denied an ice cream after school? The drunk who has to pay out on insurant after running his car into a tree? Beautiful poem!

this was great in a wat though it sounds like it could be a song. Try a beat to it had someone sound and some voice and see where it takes you.

Well written, and I agree with the others, this one is highly lyrical - would lend itself well to music although it does not NEED music. It is complete by itself.

I agree with Sarah, we take a lot of things for granted. I admit even though I shouldnt complain, people in worse situations would dream of having a roof under their head, or to have a family or someone that cares about them, like a mother or a father. Very inspiring piece, Rain. I enjoyed this.
