the color you call blue..

the color you call blue..

A Poem by Rain
"

Sometimes I complain about stuff that other people dream of.

"
you can write about your wars
the battles you've won or lost
you can sing about your highways
all the souvenirs you tossed
tell me all about sweet marie
how she left you all alone
how you wanted to end it all
how the pain went to the bone
you can drop down to your knees
cry the whole night through
somewhere someone lays alone
from a wound cut clean an true
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry
tell me about your lost plans
and every dream you watched die
sing me loud your misery
let the world know your pain
tell it how confused you are
how it feels alone in the rain
tell me how it feels my friend
sing me about the life that's you
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

tell me about every alley way
every wrong turn you've ever made
let people know how unfair life is
represent all the bruises laid
write a song of a river deep
about the mountains you have faced
tell me how helpless feels
when everything you love's erased
tell me about how hard you tried
but everything you tried went wrong
sing me all about your path
put every failure in your song
when you have screamed out every hurt
you have thrown out all that's true
somewhere someone's bleedin
for the color you call blue..

This is an amazing poem, and a wonderful read. (: It's interesting to think that the stuff we complain about or take for granted are the things that other people would die for. o= Definitely puts into perspective those people that complain /all/ the time (and I admitt, I'm guilty of this occasionally! XD) This was a rewarding read! ^___^

Wow! This is awesome!!
I guess till date I have read about 3 or 4 of your poem but I must say this one is the best of your till yet!
This is really a wonderful read and simply a brilliant piece of writing! The title is so apt and I can't imagine any other title for it...
Blue is not just a color but it is also a very intense feel and according to me most of us very often feels it...
It is one of those very unique poems which I would love to read over and over again...
"sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry" - I loved this line the most because I can highly relate myself with it and the best thing according to me for any poet is to see how his/her readers could relate themselves with his/her work...
Very well penned! Brilliant...simply brilliant!

blue is the color of our stories
and our blood when the heart says
your soul might bleed a few memories
in the company
of one whom we trust

I've never ever read a poem with better use of rhymes on here.
this almost reminds me of a song called expectations by belle & sebastian.
such a beautiful poem.
someone there to hold as when we fall....

I loved this-it flowed beautifully...I will say though I am not a fan of the font at all I found it distracting and that bugged me because your words rang so true.

There is no doubt that I am handcuffed to the chain link fence out in left field with what I saw in this piece, but I saw two things from the start that I did not lose sight of as I reached the end. I did not see the somebody has it worse and would love to have the problems another has that the other saw. Yes, I know it was written there. I have never been one for the it could always be worse line of rationalization. Obviously, everything could always be worse. From there, it could be worse than that. It is an endless chain, where eventually one would find that nothing really had any meaning. I know, I followed it for a few years.

No, I saw two things here from the start to the end.

The first was the desire to get lost in the problems of other people to avoid the problems one has themselves. It is a tasty form of denial. If you are so busy trying to save the world, you never have to worry about trying to save yourself. If you are always trying to fix somebody else, you never have to worry about trying to fix yourself. If you are listening to others problems, you never have to worry about trying to listen to your own. It is definitely a nifty form of denial.

The second was along the lines of being an emotional vampire. Where one person simply has reached that point of tolerance for their own problems, that they cannot get the high from it that they used to get. They are intelligent enough to realize they can only push themselves so far before their whole world would come crashing down, so they seek out others that are having issues. They live vicariously through their pain. It gets them that little fix they need to get through the day.

Personally, I could never feel better about my problems by being thankful that somebody has problems worse than I do... because, by saying that it could be worse - that is what is being said. I am twisted, but even I am not that twisted.

the lord/universe/evolution/ guided me here for a spanking that i needed.

Fantastic poem!!! You make us think about whats really important. How we must stop and truely think before we complain about things that are so minor. Wonderful read... : )
