the color you call blue..

the color you call blue..

A Poem by Rain
"

Sometimes I complain about stuff that other people dream of.

"
you can write about your wars
the battles you've won or lost
you can sing about your highways
all the souvenirs you tossed
tell me all about sweet marie
how she left you all alone
how you wanted to end it all
how the pain went to the bone
you can drop down to your knees
cry the whole night through
somewhere someone lays alone
from a wound cut clean an true
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry
tell me about your lost plans
and every dream you watched die
sing me loud your misery
let the world know your pain
tell it how confused you are
how it feels alone in the rain
tell me how it feels my friend
sing me about the life that's you
somewhere someone is bleedin
for the color you call blue

tell me about every alley way
every wrong turn you've ever made
let people know how unfair life is
represent all the bruises laid
write a song of a river deep
about the mountains you have faced
tell me how helpless feels
when everything you love's erased
tell me about how hard you tried
but everything you tried went wrong
sing me all about your path
put every failure in your song
when you have screamed out every hurt
you have thrown out all that's true
somewhere someone's bleedin
for the color you call blue..

This is an amazing poem, and a wonderful read. (: It's interesting to think that the stuff we complain about or take for granted are the things that other people would die for. o= Definitely puts into perspective those people that complain /all/ the time (and I admitt, I'm guilty of this occasionally! XD) This was a rewarding read! ^___^

i really like this piece....we always think we have it so bad...and then, we see someone else who has it worse...

we can really be a society of complainers...i wish we would think before we did.
----nice write.

a couple grammar glitches...but strong theme.

This is a very, VERY good read! I see where you're going with this and it's a classic poem with great descriptive lines and ultimate point. Very clever and smooth flow! Good write!

This is the best poem I have read in long, long time. I could not find any mistakes so if "their", the form is so good they don't stick out. The rhyme is great and you keep good flow with the meter. The words you chose are perfect for your them which supplies a beautiful messege. Thanks for sharing this with me.

This is absolutely beautiful Ray! You are so right, and it makes me really step back and take a look at all I DO have and in comparisonm makes me appreciate that my blue could be so much worse. I have a family that is relatively happy, and people I know do love me, even though at times I whine to myself I could be appreciated a little more than I am. In fact if I really do a self examination while I have many colors of blue, so many others have a larger shade. Wonderfully touching. Blessings, Lesa

This sounds like a song. Is it a song? I know there's a rhythm, but I'm craving a melody. This reminds me of when I would be feeling sorry for myself when I was a child, and my mom would always quip about how it could be worse...and many people are worse off. Granted, at the time it made me mad because I wanted to continue my personal pity-party, but a childhood of that helps me put things in perspective and to be an optimist...and also to put myself in another's shoes, and help them when they are in need.

Great piece, Rain.

wow i loved this poem. what a darkly deep & emotional write. there is such rhythm in this poem, like a sad song, it flows like silk. isn't that what all poets/writers do? sing, scream, write about their own struggles, pains, depressions, hurts, angers & each person always has a tale to tell. i love the way you've penned this
"sing me about your bad times
sing me and make me cry
tell me about your lost plans
and every dream you watched die
sing me loud your misery
let the world know your pain" darkly beautiful & bittersweet this is. very deep & thought-provoking. each person has their own battle to wage, their own struggles to overcome. be it little or be it huge, but the pain is very real to that person struggling. a wonderful write. ty for sharing it with me.

I liked it a lot. Very well written. It flowed nicely through the piece. I like the subject behind the poem as well, its common but written to make it feel more complex...which is a good thing. Overall, a very good read. keep up the good work. -Dave-

O.K., I'll bite, did I miss something? The grass is always greener if you've smoked some of it? lol It's just as I always say, Nobody has a monopoly on pain.
