I Run Away

I Run Away

A Poem by Rain
"

Tis a bit bout me

"
I run away
now and then
like a child
I've always been
I ran away when I was ten
when I heard her wish
I'd never been

I run away...I run away
I run away

I leave behind all the woe
never think just where I'll go
Even as a man I've found
I will leave without a sound
if I feel misunderstood
made to feel I'm no good

I run away...I run away
I run away

It is no-one's fault but mine
I run away, sometimes to find
I walk the sands
near the sea
and search the waves
for why I'm me
 I run away
when I'm afraid
I'll find the answer
of what I'm made

I run away...I run away
I run away

There comes a time
each ship must shore
the anchor dropped
to sail no more
What will I do...or say...or be
when there's no way
to run from me

I will run away...run away
I will run away

I know how you feel Rain. We all want to run away now and then. I think that's where pride and stubborness can be a good thing. That's what they want, just want you to go away, submit to their pressures and attempts to break you. That's when you dont let them win, but stand up and say do your worse. I am not affraid.

I'm so glad to see you are back, and hopefully to stay. You are always missed my friend. :)

All my love dear friend

Once again, your poem is perfect. I know I say this with pretty much every review, but the beats are wonderful and the emotion is made more powerful by the simplicity of the writing.

I remember running away some time ago. I've felt like what u had been thru. Like there was no point in living anymore, and was always the black sheep in the family. To tell u the truth, i dont know why the hell i came back. U've explained it best here. Awesome job!

Nice, sounds kind of like song lyrics to me. and i can definitely identify with you in this. there were times as a teenager and when my parents dropped the bomb shell on me that they were getting divorced, that i wanted to run away. I would leave without telling anyone, just go walk down the street. Got in trouble for it alot too. Thanks for the read request i throughly enjoyed the poem

The beginning seems like it's going to be a lighthearted "escape" type piece until the hurtful line about finding out that you weren't meant to be :( It's no wonder a person would run away from searing pain and be afraid to stick around from more (potential) pain. Running only serves to separate you from those who truly love you, but at the same time I can understand the need for self preservation. Very emotional and well written.

I think it is always our instinct to run away. But the true test of character is in your return and how you continue to shine as a writer and a person. Bravo to you my friend Keep doing what you do.

I have found that no one truly goes out of the world without making some kind of noise. Even if no one has family the person or thing that finds their corpse is making the noise they weren't getting before.

You my friend will never be forgotten!
