this kinda blue

this kinda blue

A Poem by Rain
"

Just words with no place to go..

"
i've been feeling empty lately
kinda out there all by myself
probably need to get me a thicker coat
put this old one here back up on the shelf
i really need to go somewhere
maybe to the library, maybe read a book
find me a new friend...someplace with a different look
getting too old to ramble...not sure what to do
sometimes think about her...when it's
this kinda blue

just don't see nothing headed my way
everyday pretty much the same
people start lookin all alike
everyone seems to have a game
all i got is a necklace from you
sometimes i think the whole city
feels this kinda blue

it's just an empty feelin
like this might be all i'll be
some nameless,faceless,no-body
living life aimlessly
i don't see the wind changin
not a whole lot left to do
just sometimes wonder
do you remember me, when it's
this kinda blue

sat in the corner booth
of an old family diner
the waitress that took my order
reminded me a bit of you
coffee and toast
a false smile from the host
a drop of rain
does its lonely dance
down a window pane
i sit alone in a booth for two
there's a sound to this kind of down
a lonely melody
to this kinda blue

I agree, this definately sounds like a song...

just am kinda curious
if she ever feels this kinda blue

yes it makes you wonder doesnt it.. You capture it well. That cloud that seems to hang only over your head when you are feeling this way... sigh

Rain, you are a lyricist! Seriously, heard a really good song while I read this, and read it twice more to listen again.
Such loneliness in this piece, a lot of people feel it but few can express it the way you do.

everyday pretty much the same
people start lookin all alike

that kind of setting would unsettle me so much, i can't stand normality blending into complete regularity. Not for me heh. Great write Rain.

I agree with others, this could definitely be a song. It's melancholy and a bit sad, but I like it. The repetition in each stanza makes it a really strong piece, and it definitely made me think ... lovely.

Yes, this really does sound like a song.I love it.I appreciate the sincerity of your words..their simplicity..and the honesty of your message, the strength of the feelings you capture within the poem and the strength of the vibe it carries to the reader. Well done Rain!!! Thanks for sharing

I'm thinking you should find a good singer for this, Michael Buble, Tim McGraw, someone with calibre of voice and style to do justice to the words!!

Makes me feel a little blue to read this. I have to agree with the others here, I think it sounds somewhat like a song. I found this very descriptive and an interesting read. As for words with no place to go, they don't seem stationary to me, they go all sorts of place and take the mind with them. Great write.

Very lyrical and song like. A reflective piece, full of thought and lonliness. A really good piece!!!

Very melodic, a little different feel and flow to this work.

This is crying out for music to be composed for it...
The mourning of past heartbreak....can be even more powerful than our fear of new heartbreak.

Again....of course...water ? a metaphor perfect in so many ways...

BEEN BLUE-LIKE-THAT

Blessssssssssssss
