this kinda blue

this kinda blue

A Poem by Rain
"

Just words with no place to go..

"
i've been feeling empty lately
kinda out there all by myself
probably need to get me a thicker coat
put this old one here back up on the shelf
i really need to go somewhere
maybe to the library, maybe read a book
find me a new friend...someplace with a different look
getting too old to ramble...not sure what to do
sometimes think about her...when it's
this kinda blue

just don't see nothing headed my way
everyday pretty much the same
people start lookin all alike
everyone seems to have a game
all i got is a necklace from you
sometimes i think the whole city
feels this kinda blue

it's just an empty feelin
like this might be all i'll be
some nameless,faceless,no-body
living life aimlessly
i don't see the wind changin
not a whole lot left to do
just sometimes wonder
do you remember me, when it's
this kinda blue

sat in the corner booth
of an old family diner
the waitress that took my order
reminded me a bit of you
coffee and toast
a false smile from the host
a drop of rain
does its lonely dance
down a window pane
i sit alone in a booth for two
there's a sound to this kind of down
a lonely melody
to this kinda blue

I agree, this definately sounds like a song...

just am kinda curious
if she ever feels this kinda blue

yes it makes you wonder doesnt it.. You capture it well. That cloud that seems to hang only over your head when you are feeling this way... sigh

You capture sadness here. I feel it in the empty seat across from you and in the rain on the window. It seems that I have looked throught the steam of a hot cup of coffee at the same scene. You make it that real to me. Good job.

Rain, I absolutely love this piece - i know the feeling - i think mine is usually just that funk of a long winter and needing the sunshine and some warmer temps...

This works well. As I was reading I imagined all the words floating around not quite knowing where they should be heading. Ironically the WC tree reminded me of the wind blowing the words (leaves) off in autumn and finding themselves lurking in places where they wouldn't normally be. Enjoyed this as it gave me ideas. Now all I have to do is find some words for myself!

Yes Rain I know how you feel... those feelings sometimes that you need to do something or else you'll disappear... trying anything to rise up and feel worth in this large world... we as humans at one time or another have these questions... great work in disaplaying the the heartbreak that consumes us for no reason but out of the blue.

I agree that there are days when "I've been feeling empty." Wondering if anyone, "ever feels this kinda blue." But I think we all go through "an empty feelin ... living life aimlessly."

Cheer up, the feeling goes away, maybe not today or tomorrow but slowly it goes away. Eventually the same place starts to look different, and the melody becomes a crowded happiness.

I see everyone else had the same feeling that I did while reading this and that is that is rings like lyrics. Lovely cadence and rhythm. Melancholic words but beautiful nonetheless. Thank you for sharing. I know these feelings well.

Really a great piece Rain, and one that I certainly can relate to.
I don't think we're meant to live alone..without intimacy in our
life, and your captured this empty feeling quite remarkably.
Love the imagery!

Nice piece. Sounds like lyrics for a country song. Smooth and lyrical.

Definitely been there, done that and got the t-shirt. Kind of riding the merry-go-round of life. Not my favorite spot to have been in. Something many can relate to.

there's a sound to this kind of down
a lonely melody
to this kinda blue

I don't think anyone escapes it, Rain. Well done.
