this kinda blue

this kinda blue

A Poem by Rain
"

Just words with no place to go..

"
i've been feeling empty lately
kinda out there all by myself
probably need to get me a thicker coat
put this old one here back up on the shelf
i really need to go somewhere
maybe to the library, maybe read a book
find me a new friend...someplace with a different look
getting too old to ramble...not sure what to do
sometimes think about her...when it's
this kinda blue

just don't see nothing headed my way
everyday pretty much the same
people start lookin all alike
everyone seems to have a game
all i got is a necklace from you
sometimes i think the whole city
feels this kinda blue

it's just an empty feelin
like this might be all i'll be
some nameless,faceless,no-body
living life aimlessly
i don't see the wind changin
not a whole lot left to do
just sometimes wonder
do you remember me, when it's
this kinda blue

sat in the corner booth
of an old family diner
the waitress that took my order
reminded me a bit of you
coffee and toast
a false smile from the host
a drop of rain
does its lonely dance
down a window pane
i sit alone in a booth for two
there's a sound to this kind of down
a lonely melody
to this kinda blue

This has such a candid voice that it is heart wrenching at places..you have written this with such sweet sincerity and no pretense at all..i love the line..'do you remember me when it is this blue'..i have wondered this so many times that when am spending minutes on minutes wondering about a certain person,if he is spending even a minute of his on me...
Beautifully expressed..couldn't have been better.

Been there, and you evoke it well, brother. Hope the blue has passed

This was absolutely wonderful Rain, and kinda how I feel right now. And as I was reading this it is raining finally, hopefully washing away the blues with it.

very nice emotive and atmospheric piece. the sort of... limbo state that we merge into when we are cut from a recent anchor in our lives. everything just sort of fades.

the repeated line really kept this piece nice and connected as you explored the world through a numb sort of wandering heart.

i also really liked how you played with ryhme. my favorite...

"there's a sound to this kind of down" - that's great stuff.

I can't believe that I somehow missed this one! It most certainly deserves your new badge. Congratulations my friend. This is write that we can all relate to in one way or another. There always seems to be times of lonliness that comes along. It is so nice to have dear friends to help us along our way to sunshine.

As always I leave amazed at your talent to relay your feelings be they truth of the moment or a write that we all can associate to be our own feelings.

Hugs,
Lesa

"a drop of rain

down a window pane

Wow! I luv it. I feel the loneliness in your words! I've been there!
There is nothing else that I can say about this that hasn't been said already. In my opinion, there is no room for improvment; it's prefect the way it is.

Good luck in the contest and if I haven't said so before...thanks for joining the group!

The lyrics of the heart, what a sad but fulfilling piece of work you have created here. Nothing short of the truth. We all feel this kinds blue, thank you for expressing it so well through your words.
