Shades of GreyA Poem by Nicholas Antonio YoungA dark one.
Have i taken all i need?
Does this life hold nothing new for me? Today comes wearing yesterday's face All of it in order, yet all out of place Everything looks the same Once brilliant colors have died Now only shades of grey remain Fog clouds my once clear minds eye It all feels like an illusion A repetitive life simulation If i destroyed the world, would it cease to be? Or would it hold something new for me? Everything looks the same Once brilliant colors have died Now only shades of grey remain Fog clouds my once clear mind's eye Please bring me back to life I ask of you, make the colors come to light I beg of you, rid me of this inner strife I hear no answer, and wonder... If i take this knife Would i come back to life? © 2013 Nicholas Antonio YoungAuthor's Note
