White Horizon

White Horizon

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

This is the very first song I wrote.

"
My heart was given to you,
Yet you through it away
I was forever drowning in my agony
Forever wandering these lightless tunnels
My fate was sealed
To forever be lost in the dark ruins of heartbreak

An obstacle, unmovable
A disease, incurable
Eternal misery, inevitable
Or so I thought
I finally learned to live again

I discovered the secret I was searching for so long
I don't have to fall out of love to move on
We will never be together
But I will always consider you my friend
Forever I will hold these memories
And not shy away from them in pain

An obstacle, unmovable
A disease, incurable
Eternal misery, inevitable
Or so I thought
I've finally learned to live again

Sadness from these thoughts exist no longer
Happiness is all I remember
For my heart is my own now
I have brought clarity to my own eyes
I have brought healing to my own heart

An obstacle, unmovable
A disease, incurable
Eternal misery, inevitable
Or so I thought
I've finally learned how to live again

Gaining an impossible freedom
Couldn't taste sweeter

People don't realize what a resource youth is, until it's gone. Don't forget the risks to feel that is youth Nick.

These abandonments and explortions are priceless. This was an effortless read and had moments of real brilliance like:

2. Sadness from these thoughts exist no longer
Happiness is all I remember

It's honest. If you are unsatisfied with it, work it. Keep the basic theme, though. It works.

I loved this! I was hooked from the beginning lines, and stayed that way through the whole thing

Oooo...I love this. It's not too bad. And you write pretty well, so don't be too discouraged! A broken heart is probably one of the worst pains in life.. there's no cure for it! And i agree..that moving on can hurt even if you accept what happened. hmm..nicely done though!

I love these lines:

"Sadness from these thoughts exist no longer
Happiness is all I remember
For my heart is my own now
I have brought clarity to my own eyes
I have brought healing to my own heart"

Good poem. ''A heart I gave to you
A heart you threw away"

I liked these lines. The description within it shows all the emotion that you had. Good job.

I really love these lines:

For my heart is my own now
I have brought clarity to my own eyes
I have brought healing to my own heart

It really shows the self-empowerment that comes from that kind of situation. I especially love "for my heart is my own now". Not only can it mean that your heart no longer belongs to the person you used to love (not in that way), it can also mean that you now have control over it again.
