Consumed

Consumed

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

I found this one recently, it's something I wrote a long time ago. It's depressing, and I'm not sure if it was even finished. But I'm posting it anyway :P

"

I've been wandering blindly through the sadness

Lost in the darkness

Trudging through the endless misery

Wanting only to be set free, from the shackles of me

I can only see the world through my eyes, and my eyes alone

But these eyes are stripped of innocence, and there's little they haven't been shown

I call out to the heavens, hoping the dear sky holds the answers I need

I scream, just to break the deafening silence around me

I feel there is a black hole where my heart should be

Slowly swallowing everything, every ounce of happiness inside me

Because with every passing moment I'm alive I feel less, I die more

Every bit of light there ever was, being taken from my core
