To Find Paradise Part 2

To Find Paradise Part 2

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

This is the second part. It's more of a poem than a song.

"

And so the man with wings falls again
Yet now, I willingly throw these wings away
The one thing I feared above all else
I now forsake the paradise I so desired
But have I really given up? It feels different.
No... Now I know, this is what it means to let go

The Earth greets me with such a familiar face
But this time, I reach out with a kind embrace
“You've always been there through it all

My friend, you always catch me when I fall
Even when I abandoned you, and flew away
You led me back home when I went astray

I finally see the paradise I forever searched for,
I will see you again, but it's time I opened the door”

So I began a new journey through the darkness
Nightmares followed me, while evil walked beside me
But it could not touch me, for I was not afraid

Because at the end of this long road, was the door

I grasped it, pulled, and opened it for the first time
And I was submerged in a warm, welcoming, familiar light

This Earth always told me, though I couldn't hear,
That my paradise lay here
This place of all places
This place of light and loving faces
I thought it in the sky, out of reach
With all sorts of unknowns to teach
But it's here I will make my new start
In this beautiful place, my heart.

I really like how the poem takes on more of a positive outlook than part one does. Yet both poems correlate very well. Your choice for an ending works very well for this piece.
