Through Weakness I Will Find Strength

Through Weakness I Will Find Strength

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

This is about a lifetime spent feeling weak and helpless, but still surviving and becoming stronger through it all.

"

The simple thought of you brings me to my knees

The crushing agony of a lifetime drowned in pain

You tear through my mind with razor sharp teeth

Spitting the bloody scraps down the drain
You will not be the death of me

So bring me up, let me down
Laugh in my face as it hits the ground
But I know I will overcome this pain
Through weakness, I will find strength

Through the countless times I've been broken
I will pick up the pieces of my heart and rebuild it
Stronger every time, with new wisdom to be spoken

I will become a master of this pain, invincibly shielded

With new strength awakened
And hate forsaken
No longer will I die
Through the weakness I'll rise

So bring me up, let me down
Laugh in my face as it hits the ground
But I know I will overcome this pain
Through weakness, I will find strength

Thank you mother,
Your hatred has caused my love to flourish
Love that I can spread to everyone, and even you

Caught in your crossfires, I have found peace
Peace I wouldn't have reached if not for this
And now I know your mistakes are killing you too
But just know, that until the end, I'll always love you.

I did not expect the ending in this poem! Still, it seemed to flow together better and better the more I read it. I love the details you put into it. The words are very descriptive. It allows those us of that understand how you were feeling to really grasp the reading; especially in your first stanza.

You seem so sure of yourself, and confident, although you're obviously facing a difficult point in your life. It's a very attractive quality that you've incorporated, actually, and it adds nicely to the piece.

I'd continue writing from this aspect, if I were you. It seems to be your strong suit, and it really brings out the passion you have for writing. That's something not many people can show through their work. You should definitely build off of it.
