If Only You Knew

If Only You Knew

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

I made this one a little different than usual. To give it some more uniqueness I suppose. I hope you like this.

"

I swear that one day

I'd see you grow wings and fly away

Soaring through the sun's waves

Who's light would envy the radiance you displayed

Is your existence even a reality?

Or a being from the most beautiful dream?

Because the person in front of me

Is the most angelic creature I've seen

If only you knew, how your voice soothes my soul

If only you knew, how your presence makes me whole

If only you knew, how your embrace makes my heart rise

If only you knew, how I feel when I look in your eyes

If only you knew, how your laugh makes me fall

If only you knew, If only you knew at all

If my heart was made of ice hard as clay

Every time I'd see you, the ice would all melt away

Because there is never a moment in a day

Where your presence in my mind stays away

Thinking about you is sort of a daily routine

If I don't do it, I'd be lost, broken, and empty

Like a flame without heat

Like the air without breeze

Like the Earth without the sea

Reading this piece really hit home for me because I understand these feelings so well. It's wonderful to know that one person could have such a powerful affect on you and never hàve to do anything to make you smile or happy. I feel as long as you have one type of person like that in your life, one that truly accepts you and has been there through thick and thin, knowing they wil never leave, then you don't need anyone else. They are there to let you know that everything will be okay and that no one and nothing can have a chance to harm you.

Oh my gosh I loved it! This was so well written (with great similes at the end) so romantic, with a dreamy quality, and your emotions were very well expressed. The first stanza really captured this girls fantastic, other worldly beauty and made the reader see here as something special, as you do:) Wonderful poem! 100/100!
God Bless

I really love the repetition here! It flows well and makes it sound so much of a song.. i really enjoyed reading this. Well done like always. =)
I also love the longing for the person in this poem. Just lovely.

This is a great poem/lyrics that really express the longing for people to know how you truly see them, but also the hesitance in them finding out just how much they truly mean to you. This poem flows very well.
