Sunrise

Sunrise

A Poem by Rainbowco

Sunrise;
Hues of red and gold
A watercolor sky
Repeats its reflection
In the lake
One last heron
On a slender leg
Stands still
Head tucked neatly
Beneath the wing
Feathers a chameleon
Of the morning

Sunrise;
The dragonflies’ bold
Colored wings fly
In all directions
Leaving the wake
Of their sound on
Tall cattails
Tipped brown chenille
Heads bobbing
Blue green drakes glisten
With the sun’s rising

The moment passes in a blink
Of time and the day starts with a wink.
