Art, Rain and Cool Jazz

Art, Rain and Cool Jazz

A Poem by Rainbowco

Quiet…settles into the day

Through the window, liquid play of greens and blues overlay,

Impressionism done in Natures way to rival the greatness of Monet.

Light, refracted by drops of rain, paints the canvas of its domain.

Such beauty, one cannot contain hopes that the soft showers remain.

Strains of cool jazz played slow combine to form a perfect combo,

Colors and music muted low, never has any other day been so mellow.

Billie Holiday’s voice floats blue to entangled with thoughts of you,

A drink so perfectly smooth that black velvet dreams begin to woo

And amuse me as the light surrenders. my fancy takes flight,

To think of how love might be when we lie with the stars in our sight,

As day… settles into the night

I can hear jazz, but I think you need some breaks in there to give it a defined rhythm. I am extremely impressed with the rhyming- I can't do that myself.

the title definitely fits the rhythm of the poem: jazz in poetry form.
