Butterflies

Butterflies

A Poem by Rainbowco
"

Those dastardly butterflies do it everytime!

"

Now let me set this straight

I am not one who sits and smiles in wonder

At the butterflies who sail over the gate,

They are only bugs with wings for Pete’s sake!

Now let me set this straight

This garden is here for me to sit and ponder.

The woes of the world you cannot negate

After all, you are only a butterfly for Pete’s sake!

Now let me set this straight

Yes, you may dress in bright Technicolor,

However, my thoughts of gloom you won’t overtake.

Damn it all!  Now I am smiling for Pete’s sake!

This was delightfully written and I enjoyed that the beauty of the butterfly chased away gloomy thoughts - they always do.

I like the irony in the poem, and I espcially enjoy the repitition (I love that technique in poetry). There's nothing I would change about it-it's great.
