Sing with the Sirens

Sing with the Sirens

A Poem by Rainbowco

Does my smile allay the doldrums we share?
Can it hold the storm at bay for a lifetime - even a day?
Or is it a doomed vessel of misfortune and uncare
Broken to smithereens leaving us beached upon shore,
Hearing the song of Sirens, who should be dead and gone?
Struck down and plucked by Muses, left so unadorned
With beauty’s look, the Sirens join us to mightily morn
Our love’s sinking ways upon the sea of our flaws.
Bound not by adoration but by lowly desire
Turbulent waves extinguish our fire.
