Ostracized

Ostracized

A Poem by Rainbowco

The light shines through my hand, glowing
Atoms and molecules slowing dissolving
Disintegrating skin, muscle and bone
Look through the flesh, now tissue thin
This process is carved out in hard stone
For their hearts back I cannot win
Becoming but a faint echo to them
Ostracized by my doings of my own
Fading, fading away until I am alone
A ghost of my own imagining

I was very much drawn to this poem by its title as it made me curious. I like the feel of this and the subject has been handled in a way that feels fresh. I particularly like the way that you portrayed the disconnectedness as becoming physically transparent- fading away - I thought that was brilliant.

My favorite lines were:

For their hearts back I cannot win
Becoming but a faint echo to them
Ostracized by my doings of my own
Fading, fading away until I am alone
A ghost of my own imagining

Especially the comparison to a faint echo, that was just way cool! I so enjoyed reading this wonderful poem. Great write!
