A Lover’s Request
By ~ Rainbowco
Beguiling, enchanting, weak words, lacking imagination,
Unjust to thy most intoxicating and captivating charms.
Like Icarus, with heroic audacity, I would fly to thy arms,
Though the brilliance of thou would singe at my destination.
Nightingales silence their song in envious consternation,
For thy trilling laughter dulls them to mere skylarks.
All revolve around thee, like stars in the constellations.
If thou will not my sun be, let me be thy orbiting moon.
If thou will not be my salvation, become my damnation,
Tossing small scrapes of hope to feed this damned soul,
Whose besotted heart continues to worship in adoration,
Thy very existence, in the hope that love’s healing bloom
Should wondrously unfurl before my death bell doth toll.
