Crushes

It's so easy to claim them as yours

when the flirting is kept light

but when it's over

it feels as if you've lost a major fight

your heart

shatters to pieces

and everything becomes cold

when your blood freezes

you feel hollow

and your voice echoes

through empty halls

in words nobody knows

when you lose that person

you're left imcomplete

with nothing but

a shallow heartbeat

you try to force a smile

and push right on through

but it's difficult

when they were the one for you
