Fake a laugh

force a smile

bite your tongue

at least for a little while

hide your pain

behind your eyes

it's okay if you

tell little lies

keep your voice low

and your eyes downcast

don't reveal a thing

even if asked

if you can hustle through it

then at the end of the day

you'll find that

none of it mattered anyway
