Prison of the mindA Story by RainbowNightA book I started and am never going to finish xD"I was blind but now I see. I was blind but now I see. I was blind but now I see." the shrill voice echoed down the corridor. The young boy lay under the covers, listening intently to the other patient’s crazed singing. No matter how much he tried to ignore it, he could not. There was nothing to distract himself with in the bare room. When he had arrived here just a few hours ago, he was so confident he could get what he wanted and be out in a heartbeat. However he was starting to doubt himself now, realizing he was only a few paces away from someone who was showing clear signs of insanity. But it was too late for second thoughts, he was in until the doctors decided what to do with him. He gazed up at the security camera looking down on him as he lay under his sweat soaked blankets, hoping that maybe somebody would notice and come talk to him, just so he wouldn’t feel so alone. And yet he knew this was not going to happen; the nurses were not to disturb the patients after the lights were shut off. So all he could do was lay there thinking about his life and how he managed to come to this point. How had a promising and intelligent sixteen year old boy managed to end up in a mental hospital? © 2011 RainbowNight |
