Silent Scream

Silent Scream

I scream a silent scream.
Everyone I love hurts me.
I know you're probably thinking that's an overdramatic plea,
But the truth is I've been hurt by everyone who says it's love.
Even my own mother and the man whom I once thought was my true love.
I scream a silent scream
For the boy who never got to take his first breath
Before he tasted the bitterly inconsolable taste of death.
For the girl who only lived to age nine before self harm and unhappiness took over
Hoping that one day she could find her four leaved clover.
I scream a silent scream.
Because one day that girl got older
When she realized the world just gets colder.
Everyone she met used her as bait to get what they wanted.
It got to the point where she thought her life was just haunted.
I scream a silent scream.
She thought to herself that one day she'd be okay
Until age 16 where that hope was thrown away.
Innocence was stolen.
Her heart was broken and swollen.
I scream a silent scream.
This girl is now eighteen.
Young enough to gain back hope, but old enough to see the difference between love and mean.
Wanting everyone to see hope,
She writes this for everyone to see you're never alone and keep walking that tightrope.
I scream for everyone to hear.

Life isn't fair and each of us can only do what WE can to deal as the actions affect and effect us. Having hope keeps unicorns dreaming and reaching for their stars... and our reaching DOES mean we occasionally touch them - other unicorns AND stars.
