Chapter OneA Chapter by Emily Michael
I knew I loved him the moment he walked through the restaurant doors. He
looked as if he had been sent straight from Heaven. He had golden-brown
hair, a muscular body, ideal full lips, and elegant silver eyes. He was
around 5 foot 10. That was taller than me, but not by too much. My eyes
locked with his and neither of us dropped the gaze.
I wished this moment could’ve lasted forever. However, it ended when his eyes shifted apprehensively downward. He walked over and took a seat. I saw my stepmother, Terri, walking towards him. I had to get over there and talk to him somehow. And fast. I just didn’t know what I was going to say… My head was tangled and confused with thoughts of possible conversational topics. "Hi My name is..." "How is your evening..." "welcome to..." "I'll be serving...." "I think you are..." "may I help you with..." The thoughts just kept coming and coming. I didn't have time to think anymore.. I jumped out of my seat and grabbed a menu. “It’s okay Terri, I’ll get this one.” While I was walking over toward his table our eyes never left each others. After I was in front of him I smiled and said, “Hi, Welcome to Bill’s BBQ & Steak House. My name is Aly and I will be your server today. Can I start you off with something to drink?” His lips slowly twitched into a half-smile, “No thank you Aly, however, I would like to take a beautiful girl like yourself to my school dance tomorrow night.” His request caught me off guard. I was trying to process it. "Did he Just ask me out?" "Oh my gosh!" "What is happening?!" "What do I say?!" "What do I do?!" And of course, being the complete spazz I am, all I could say was, “But, I don't even know you.” He looked into my eyes with his enticing gaze and said, “Well, let’s fix that problem right now. My name is Keith, my birthday is June 8th 1994, I’ve lived in London all my life, I moved to Los Angels a month ago, my favorite color is red, I like the night more than the day, and I’d love it if you’d say yes to my date.” I laughed a little as I walked away. “So are you going to give me an answer?” I looked back, “yes. I’ll go with you.” © 2012 Emily Michael |
