My Pretties

My Pretties

A Poem by RainQueen

My Pretties

You glimmer-whirl, shimmer-twirl all about me.
A teasing coalescence here and there.
A glimpse, fleeting
fleeing
from me.

I watch in wonder as the Gods and Goddesses pluck you
tuck you
mold you into majesty

Athena, whipping you about with the merest flick, into a wondrous glittering creation -
The deepdeep pain river sighing beneath -
Sharpness borne from a core too loving,
Genius from the depths of a complex, speeding mind.
At her hands, layer after shining layer peels back to reveal stunning truth after truth

Poseidon - Regal and stern
You bow to his impassive, inexorable will,
obediently gathering at his command -
At the ready to reveal him.
You form structures so clean and shining, perfect and melancholy.
And you push the silent unknowing tear

Mercury laughs and weeps -
At his hand, you explode into firework passions,
The woman's breath quickening, pulse racing just the slightest -
But beneath the bright flash, the clarion clang -
The sweetest currents run deep, flavoring,
More than confection.  Savory.

The woman-child
Molds you cleanly - Discipline and clarity - Gently taming you.
A crystal pool parts to reveal the powerful wisdom of rare thoughtful youth.
Perspective uncluttered by bitterness, hubris.
Pristine and perfect.

At times, you are built into a clumsy leaning tower, with untold treasure within.
Others, you are a smooth, soaring obelisk, corruption and rot thinly veiled.

You sing to my soul
You soothe my heart
You break me and make me.

You settle into my fingers and flow when it suits you
You tease and peek at me just out of reach, tauntingly dancing.

I reach for you
and the phantom-wisp chucklingly slips away.

And so
 I wait for you.

mythoenergetic , a soul song in the key of the wide-eyed wonder of when and how and why not now ...

I love this because it doesn't take you to where you think it will! The mythology is a treat and I am in awe at the flow of this, wonderful love!

Hi RQ. Nice ingredients here. Funny how we often end up waiting for the very things we are and always have been. I love the mythological references. Brings to mind Hephaestus - lame god of the forge - with whom I have spoken long hours of late.
