An Important Question

An Important Question

A Poem by Rain (Notebook)

Awhile back, I was working on a photography project of "ME".  In this project I had to take different self portraits.  This was the one that described what and how I was feeling at that time in my life.

It is inspired by the song by Ashlee Simpson called Catch Me When I Fall.

Catch Me When I Fall - Ashlee Simpson

Is anybody out there?
Does anybody see?
That when the lights are off something's killing me.
I know it seems like people care,
Cause they're always around me.
But when the day is done and everybody runs

Who will be the one to save me from myself
Who will be the one who's there
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who's gonna catch me when I fall

When the show is over
And it's empty everywhere
It's so hard to face going back alone
So I walk around the city
Anything, anything to clear my head
I've got nowhere to go nowhere but home

Who will be the one to save me from myself
Who will be the one who's there
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who's gonna catch me when I fall

It may seem I have everything
But everything means nothing
When the ride that you've been on
That you're coming off
Leaves you feeling lost

Is anybody out there
Does anybody see
sometimes lonliness
is just apart of me

Who will be the one to save me from myself
Who will be the one who's there
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who's gonna catch me when I fall
Who's gonna catch me when I fall
Who's gonna catch me when I fall
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who's gonna catch me when I fall

Superb photography, and the poem matches it wonderfully. It's a hard place to be in, and it's scary to be standing on the edge. But, you should take notice that you are strong yourself, for though you haven't fallen, neither have you leapt. That is the first step to not falling. Hope that situation, whatever it was, is over now and that things are well for you.

WOW!! That is an incredible self-portrait. I think it says alot about how brave you are up there on the ledge not sure if anyone is going to catch you if you fall. This was great.

Love,
Stephanie

That's a beautiful picture! And I'm glad you've made it out of that time in your life. I think that now you know exactly who will catch you.

Nice shoes. ;)
