Refrain From A RefrainA Poem by Chris T.She asked for a song. I gave it to her.She said I should write her a song We’ll pull the clock off of the shelf
and rip the power cord out We’ll try to stop time so we can preserve this soulful health but no we shouldn’t, no we can’t for death has drawn out Our twenty year plan so we’ll push on, oh we’ll push on The deaf man sighs because he
hasn’t heard her sing with his own ears and the happy man sighs because he hasn’t heard words he want to hear Oh, they will waste their years Living with fears They can do nothing about What are we even going on about
Love is entirely senseless now Can you even feel it? I can’t! I can’t! The blind man is done because he
feels how cold you have become The sad man is done because he Knows that you have won Oh, yeah, and the deaf man is done because he overheard your unfaithful fun and the happy man is done because Because he’s done, he’s done! I may have been deaf and blind © 2009 Chris T.
