Right to Disassemble

Right to Disassemble

A Poem by Chris T.

Our decrepit streets

Skeletal

Crumbling decay

Quiet

Begrudgingly obey

For now

Our bloodied feet

Skeletal

Withering away

Fearful

Survive another day

We will speak aloud

His fearless troops

Serve and protect

Not human

A mortal defect

Blindly obey

For now

Oh for now

We will sing aloud

To the gathered crowd

With the setting sun

Our obedience wears thin

The marching grows

We will stand our ground

We will sing aloud

To the gathered crowds

That we won’t allow

No we won’t allow

That we won’t allow

No we won’t allow

Until our song is

Drowned out

By the bullet sound

I thought it was pretty decent until the end, then I thought it was awesome. It had this "patriot ring" to it, but with a bit of morbid reality to step in and slap me in the face just as I was feeling comfortable. I like it a lot actually.
