A Poets HeartA Poem by Petals & Pearls
A poet does translate his heart
And inscribes it on a page So forever it might live on Through time and death and age He cares not what you think of his reasons He cares not, for you don't understand You may think that his ways are just folly For he lives with his heart in his hand But his heart in his hand be his compass And it guides him wherever he be For the heart as you know it is blind But it knows what the eyes cannot see His heart, it is a traveler A voyager of many seas Or maybe like the skylark Soaring high above the trees Wherever his heart does take him Wherever his heart does stray Whatever he dreams he ventures And his heart does lead the way Pity the poet if wished Mock his heart pure and true Laugh at what you cannot grasp But honor him I do © 2010 Petals & PearlsReviews
