Love, My CrimeA Poem by Petals & Pearls
He is to me my secret love
A treasure within my heart A precious valued hidden gem With him I shall not part In secret I will love him If only for a time If love be wrong to dream So be it, love, my crime I know I cannot hold him But admire from afar Like a showcase full of diamonds Or a brilliant shining star To touch would be a sin A lie is to let go I want him to myself Though they can never know For if by chance I thieve him And steal him far away They’ll know it’s I that took him To hold him close each day In secret I will love him If only for a time If love be wrong to want So be it, love, my crime. © 2010 Petals & Pearls |
