Ode to the Odious

Ode to the Odious

A Poem by Raef C. Boylan

And if Keats were here today, what would he say?

Not much, for paper and pen would be blown away.

Such is Autumn: close bosom friend of the umbrella seller,

conspiring with him to bend and break and profit from the not-clever fella

(we used to call him optimist but now We Are Not All In This Together;

it’s the season of mist, of being pissed off, ripped off and rich toffs blaming the weather).

Thanks, yeah it's just a jokey one :)
let's all write an ode to Keats and all the other old guys . . . then let's write an ode to us, the young guys who may someday get to be the old guys, then let's write an ode to autumn who doesn't discriminate between generations
