Fresh

Fresh

A Chapter by Raef C. Boylan

used to be

there was always

a fat kid

in every gang

now there’s sometimes

a skinny one

and they don’t care

            that last night

            I was washed to sleep

in a fish pond

of rippling couplets

and does the pond

            serve the fish

            or are they

only there

to keep the water

from stagnation?

It's a symbiotic relationship as with everything in the world.
Sorry, I can't think straight I have the song Midnight Show by The Killers
imprinted in my mind...

I guess the gangs that the bigger a person is the more intimidating they are :D

But, I suppose the question behind the question is what is the meaning behind
the relationship of the "pond" and the "fish", at least that's what I'm thinking...

I've tried reading a couple of your poems, and everytime I'm left confused. I'm not quite sure why that is, maybe your writing is too advanced? Or maybe I'm just stupid, but either way, though I may be confused at the end, it's a good kind. I may not understand the poem compeltely, but I end up liking them. I am submitting a review on this one because it's probably the one I understand most, even though that isn't saying a lot.
I may be confused, but this is still a good write. Maybe you should try writing a really simple poem? Those are always nice to read =D!
