CAVE ART MA[R]T[Y]R.ial

CAVE ART MA[R]T[Y]R.ial

A Chapter by Raef C. Boylan

Tomorrow

               or tomorrow…

                                  or tomorrow…

a generation identifies more with Augustine’s

less saintly phase than with J.C’s supposed self-sacrifice;

fair enough, for if we all chose to perish in martyr’s

protest at mankind’s lack of merit, we’d be abandoning this planet

to the hedonist and criminal, who don’t give a s**t.

Stalling what disheartens, when faced with fire-breathing facts,

allows us a sense of endless chances to change.

The meek shall not inherit; they will be rounded up and pelted

with rotten vegetables, until superior instinct has instilled

unto their humility, a lesson of repeated history:

to evolve involves sharpening cunning; predatory stalking;

gaining control over whatever panel’s judging; bribing

brutal favour, by wiping out

those who are now deemed second best.

Powerful.

To be honest, I'm hesitant to review this piece. Why? Because my sense it that you have much more to say on the topic. I can sense the words on this issue pacing back and forth in your belly, ready to revolt, marching out of your mouth and pen into the unfortified ears of your listeners.

No lie; this is a significant piece of work that deserves to be expounded on. This is the stuff of revelutions and enlightenments. Unsheath your saber and write on!

cave art material
caveat martyr
caveat mary
hmmm lots of words appear in my mind when i look at the title.
which have all kinds of meanings...
i see the materialism of religion
buying and selling off shares of heaven
it's being forcefed down our throats sometimes....
I also see the way it's become pop culture to some...
I also see beware martyrs- cause like you said- we'd be leaving it to fucktards who dont give a s**t
I even see beware mary, marriage, matrimony....and i love this, that the words take these meanings in my head. In some religions Mary is more important...i wont get into all that but it popped into my head and i felt like saying so...
anyhow...

"Stalling what disheartens, when faced with fire-breathing facts,
allows us a sense of endless chances to change." I stumbled over these lines but after a few reads i got it... I couldn't make the words flo yo. but it works now.
i love fire-breathing facts...

The meek shall not inherit; they will be rounded up and pelted
with rotten vegetables, until superior instinct has instilled
unto their humility, a lesson of repeated history:
to evolve involves sharpening cunning; predatory stalking;
gaining control over whatever panels judging; bribing
brutal favour, by wiping out
those who are now deemed second best.

damn that last stanza is remarkafuckingble
It's so accurate... to evol.ve.... and of course the word love is em.bed.ded in that word which just adds to another meaning in my head...
It's just perfect.

Who is second best these days? guess it depends on the judges.... I love how the reader can interpret these lines so many different ways depending on their own views...

you mindfucked me good. um...i mean "well". you mindfucked me well. haha

Interesting views here. I really like the style. Fast paced and hard hitting but it reads smoothly too. Very good.

The meek shall not inherit; they will be rounded up and pelted
with rotten vegetables,

I like how that was worded regardless if I agree with it or not.
Meek shouldn't insinuate weak, which it does in todays society.
For example a tame horse is no weaker than a wild horse and thats really all meek means, tame or humble.

I did enjoy this piece though. Sorry I haven't been reviewing lately.
I will be back to review more soon.
