Chicago February

Chicago February

A Poem by R. Oxley
"

After a strange instance of needing to climb over a freight train in order to get where I needed to go, I penned this poem as a way of expressing my feelings about living in Chicago and taking risks

"

Amorphous lights        I remember stars and fireflies

when the world was full of sleepy trees and quiet streets

My reflection is superimposed on every view We are lovely

this city stole my heart, and I don’t want it back

I have been lost for a while missed stops, missed connections

            occasionally barricaded from my destination

I find adventure when I least expect it        sometimes the only thing to do is hop a train

and hope it won’t take off underfoot

I'm open to any and all constructive critique! Please let me know what you think of the formatting ("quiet streets" is supposed to be part of the line before, but it cut off, sorry).
