She Never Texted MeA Poem by RaePoem about a girl I once met.
Her blue eyes pierced me from across the room.
I felt them as I turned to face her. Serving drinks, she laughed. I couldn't help but smile at her. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. "What can I get you?" Her words were like silk, like music. Her eyes darted towards me as I replied. "I'd love a vodka and coke." I was surprised at how deep my voice sounded. I tried again. "I'd love to get to know you better." Surprised again at what came out of my mouth, I leant against the bar. "Oh really?" She blinked. "Can I give you my number?" I didn't even bother to ask if she was gay. "Sure." She served me my drink as I wrote my number on a napkin. She never texted me. © 2018 RaeAuthor's Note
