RespectA Poem by Courtney CaddiwampusFather one thing you don't have
Your voice grates on my nerves Never have I heard a voice That I hate so much Its almost painful
You ask why we love our mother So much more than you So obviously hate you Its easy to see Your only a b*****d Its true
Repeat your self all you want Go on a tirade about our disrespect In the same sentence That you preached this You told me To leave the house Get pregnant, live under a bridge That it would all be okay As long as I didn't come back
You spoke these words As you attacked my brothers with a bat You claimed he “pushed” his face into your fist That he started the fight Yeah Cause a man who can't use his hand Is likely to do that Right after sugary Knocked up on morphine He's really likely to do that
You put words in our mouths So you can get mad And attack us Like some kind of Wild, savage beast
All we ever do is wrong When we say please and thank you Its never enough Never enough We don't say it to your satisfaction We get hit Cause we were oh so wrong
Never praised Only acknowledged for our faults whether they are there or not Cause thats the way you raise a child
Its never your fault Its always ours It takes two to Tango You lead I follow
Please don't try to be a parent Thats one thing you'll never be
Don't try to be mommies husband or lover There you never succeed It being married means being treated like that If the sayings true And daughters marry men like their fathers Then I can say No hesitation That I will never be married Ever I will make it law And sign it in blood No regrets
Please We all know All but you Open up your eyes and see All our problems Come from you
