The halves of my heart.A Poem by RadioactiveMy heart, you'd never notice it, but it's firmly sawed in two. Not that you would ever care, but both halves belong to you.Your smile opens up heavens, Not that you know, The way you brush your hair behind your ear, You flutter in and out of all my dreams, If you knew it would be like stars falling from the sky, My heart, You’d never notice it, But it’s firmly sawed in two, Not that you would ever care, But both halves belong to you, Your voice rings through my head, Like a melody of words, To you I’m just that same best friend, You know I’d crush the guy who breaks your heart, In my dreams, A piece of it is mine, I know that you would never notice, I wish your heart would beat for me, The way it beats for him, I’m tired of saying ‘I love you’ to doors you’ve just closed, You came crying to me, Asking why love is just so fucked up, Don’t I know it, babe. I held you tight, Stroked your auburn curls, My lips just started moving, And words just came tumbling out, It sounded like: ‘I love you, why can’t you tell? Then my throat closed up, The earth, the air, they shattered, Like broken hearts, broken glass, That we tread upon together.
