Belonging

Belonging

A Poem by Mae-Alice

to belong to someone
    or something
    or someplace
    or sometime
is one thing each of us long for
we have fallen into traps
and stereotypes of humanity
each of us a shape
or soul
no longer our own
shoved
forced
pushed
pulled
tossed
into a mold many can never fit

longing to belong

in a country where perfection is plastic

if your body
is your temple
then your patrons
are surely hell bound
