Almost Holy, Practically Perfect

Almost Holy, Practically Perfect

I wanted you to kiss me today
I needed to have some sort of physical communication with you
brushed your hand by accident
sat a little too close
anything that would let me feel your touch
I am not numb to your presence
I can still feel the essence of your ghost on me
this is my ode to your innocence
the anarchy that is my mind when I am with you
so in somnolence I scorn myself
hesitation in a moment when I feel like a pretentious twit
entrancing is your almost apprehensive smile
I feel profound, almost holy, practically perfect
overflowing with happiness when that smile is flickered towards me
screaming in the agony that is change
the noticeable difference when I am with you
this strange overwhelming feeling that has attached itself to me
something I could get used to
feeling warm and alive
a sadomasochistic death seems to lift off of me
I am happy in this moment when you smile
when I smile
when our eyes meet

Such sweetness and kindness in your words. A beautiful poem. The first touches. Walking hand in hand. Holding someone for hours talking of great dreams. Best days in life. A beautiful poem.
