A thought appears and stays in my mind

A reason why

To satisfy

Sometimes there is no logic to be found

Is there a monster living in my head?

No place to hide beneath the bed

No memory

Inside of me

Of things that they say happened, if they did

Reflections in the mirrors of my mind

They reveal

That bad things only happen

Doesn't matter how I feel

There are no windows to my soul

Look beyond my eyes

You see only lies

it might be just reflections or illusion, but it hits the paper quite well...and becomes a poem with good rhythm and is a mirror to the mind of a poet trying to collect her thoughts into something worth saving.

Thank you so much. I wrote this piece over the course of about a year, I think, with the melody floating around in my head with no rhyme or reason. A doctor of mine asked me to write a song 'on command' about my issues at present, and it just flowed out to that soulful melody I just mentioned...
