True Friend

A Poem by Shubhi

This is my one of my earliest poems. Its about how much a person needs a best friend in their life because life is meant to be shared and not to be spend alone. I hope you all like it!

TRUE FRIEND

I was sitting all alone,

With darkness all around

Expecting the one who'd take me,

Out of fright that bound.

Sudden,I heard the footsteps,

Coming towards me

Calling out my name like anything,

But the movement was creep.

My expectations raised high,

My eyes seemed to glow

Who came,I don't know,

Who came to save my life?

I saw a face in the dark,

Shining like a moon in the sky

It left a scar in my heart,

She came to save my life!

I was really very surprised,

To see her over here

Her love had no price,

Now I had no fear.

We both smiled at each other,

Tears rolled down my eyes

When no one even bothered,

She came for me,for my life!

She offered me a hand for help,

I wasn't able to control myself

Stood up, and gave her a hug tight,

For showing me a little bright light.

My heart was filled with gratitude,

For girl who showed so much solicitude

When all left me solitary,

She was there for my help only.

She was an angel sent by god,

From my life to remove all the fog

To make my life crystal clear,

It was none other than m friend dear.

Author's Note

As I mentioned this is one of my first poems since the time i started writing poems. I would appreciate suggestions on how I can improve myself and compliments are always accepted. I hope you all find something worthy in my poem.

Such wonderful friendship! It's always nice to have a true friend by your side who is willing to stay there with you. I like how you mention that this friend gave without needing pay in return. There are some many 'friends' out there now who only stay by you as long as you give them something in return and really that isn't true friendship so I like how you address that. ^^ Very nice. Keep dreaming.

A very good poem. A good friend is the gold in a long life.
"She was an angel sent by god,
