AloneA Poem by Rachell R. Taylor
It’s not as if they were alone
But they really had no one beside them.
They all believed in one another
Or at least prayed they did.
The basic truth was, they were all individuals,
Only loosely united by common goals
On the rare occasion of one lasting more than a few months.
They’d all move on. No tethers to keep them permanently.
But that didn’t stop them from hoping perhaps they were all connected.
Of imagining binds holding them together.
Of strangling their joy to create them, to make something that seemed it would last. © 2009 Rachell R. Taylor |
