Darkened Light

Darkened Light

A Poem by Rachel
"

Sonnet I wrote during Ren. Faire. I gave them a choice between Love or Death as subject matter. Most chose Death. That's what this one is.

"

Thine beautious orbs dull in their places,

Leaving mine world, mine heart, emptier still.

Lights dim in accordance to thine races,

With your heart, the wind stills with purest will.

Gone, gone and dead, the light seems still brighter.

The wind, stronger, the world, my heart, fuller.

My eyes, emerald spheres, brighter, lighter,

Than either mine or thine was in ever.

But the world remains in deepest shadow.

War caused by thine sapphire tinted orbs,

Thine ruby painted lips, and darkened brow.

For poison was your heart's end, those dark thorns.

Your heart is stopped, your reign is now ended.

But even now, my peace is not granted.
