All the Things I want

All the Things I want

A Poem by RachelWroteIt

I want to walk on the black volcanic beaches of Iceland.

I want to stand in the blue, blue waters of Duborvnik.

I want the wind to whip my voice away on the cliffs of Scotland.

I want to feel the heat of an Australian desert on my skin.

I want to sleep in cottage surrounded by flowers and herbs,

And on a boat with the stars above me.

I want to jump on a plush white bed.

I want to sleep in the back of a van on a beach, and light a fire in the sand.

I want to walk through a market place in Marrakech

I want to watch Mass in the Vatican.

I want to walk through slums and palaces.

I want to run through pouring rain with a paper over my head.

I want to lay on the hood of a broken-down car and stare at the sky, waiting for Triple A.

I want to shop with abandon and pile boxes and bags into a taxi.

I want to eat fine morsels in quiet restaurants.

I want to eat a skewer of chicken from a  street vendor.

I want to sit in seedy bars and clubs

I want to see it all.

I want to do it all.

I want to taste it all.

With you.

And at the end of my life, when the final slideshow plays,

All the finest memories will have you in them "

And all the colors will be brighter for your smile.

All the sounds will be more musical for your laugh.

All of it will be more " because you were there.  Exactly as you were.
